ADVANTAGES OF STUDYING AT CUMBRES MÉXICO

What makes us different

Vista del modelo educativo

Did you know that at our school we use learning-centered methodologies?
These methodologies are:

  • Project-based learning: It develops orderly thinking by proposing solutions to real-life situations through sequenced steps. Since it unfolds over an extended period of time, it also develops students' organization and planning skills.
  • Problem- or challenge-based learning: It develops multiple skills through solving a problem or challenge — broadening students' perspective as they approach it from different angles, developing creativity as they propose possible solutions, encouraging assertive decision-making based on the available information, and learning to work under pressure.
  • Case studies: Students — first individually, then in small groups, and finally in a plenary session — formulate proposals offering concrete, realistic solutions to real-life situations while considering different perspectives. Through analysis, reflection, and discussion in small groups, empathy is fostered, and presenting conclusions to a group develops confidence and clarity in public speaking.
  • Experiments: They encourage children to inquire, investigate, and learn through discovery, sparking curiosity by encouraging students to ask questions, formulate hypotheses, and seek answers. Through experimentation, they come to understand natural and scientific phenomena in order to generate and propose models.
  • Collaborative centers: They serve to reinforce or consolidate previously covered learning with the support of concrete environments and materials. They foster student autonomy by assigning a task with a limited time to complete it, and they respond to multiple intelligences and learning styles by offering alternatives in materials, activities, and assessment for each student.

We want our students to develop their full potential through these methodologies and a well-rounded education!

Our facilities are an important part of our students' learning process. We take advantage of every opportunity, inside and outside the classroom, to create an educational and formative experience. Every detail is designed to foster our students' individual and collaborative work.

  • We integrate technology into the classroom not just for entertainment, but to reinforce concepts, ideas, and skills.
  • We have large windows that help students self-regulate their attention by connecting the indoor space with the outdoors.
  • Throughout all our spaces we use neutral colors that help foster concentration and creativity.
  • We bring every space within the classroom to life, letting students explore and make use of every corner.

Our learning environments promote inquiry, spark curiosity, and connect with each student's knowledge.

In our model, English is much more than a subject. The main advantage of our bilingual approach is that students achieve a high command of English, which allows them to study and perform professionally in a second language, and they also have the opportunity to earn international certificates that validate their knowledge.

Our students take standardized tests that allow them to certify their English level and that are accepted internationally.

We see the teacher as a fundamental link who mediates the learning process so that each student can fully develop their potential.

Learning support is a way of relating to students within class, creating opportunities to truly get to know each student and designing strategies and materials that allow them to be responsible for and the protagonist of their own formation and learning.

We also maintain close communication with parents, with whom we build a partnership to support them in their formative mission.

Sports are an essential area for our students' well-rounded development. In addition to enhancing physical coordination, they also foster values such as perseverance, teamwork, willpower, and the desire to improve every day. That is why we consider sports an essential disciplinary focus within our school's education.

Through sports, our students get to know themselves, learn to overcome challenges, build willpower and character, and develop psychomotor, emotional, social, and intellectual skills.

We give students constant exposure to art and culture, helping them develop critical and creative thinking as well as a range of emotional skills. By expressing themselves through art, our students develop a sense of collaboration, with art serving as a channel to communicate their emotions and connect with all their senses.

Our model of differentiated education with mixed environments allows us to offer our families the best of both worlds.

We are convinced that the differentiated education applied within elementary and middle school classrooms is the best way to maximize our students' cognitive abilities and academic development, as it allows us to adapt pedagogical strategies based on students' interests and psycho-affective characteristics. In addition, we offer the advantage that boys and girls interact naturally and spontaneously in a mixed environment, achieving:

  • Optimal social-emotional development.
  • Natural interaction with the opposite sex.
  • The formation of mixed groups of friends for life.
  • Preparation to live in a world that is mixed.

At all of our educational levels, we want students to use technology effectively and efficiently as a tool to increase their productivity, develop their creativity, communicate ideas, and learn collaboratively, without forgetting the responsibility that its use entails. We want every student to develop their full potential and to be creators, not just consumers, of technology.

Through educational technology, robotics, and the STEAM methodology (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math), we encourage students to see it:

  • As a useful and necessary resource for learning.
  • As a means to develop digital competencies.
  • As a foundation of technological skills for the next educational levels.

One of the most important sporting events within the Semper Altius School Network is the Friendship Tournament (Torneo de la Amistad). It is the school competition with the largest number of participants in Latin America.

This tournament takes place every year, with around 7,000 athletes from all of our schools taking part. It is an event of fellowship and healthy competition, where our students and parents have the opportunity to spend time with families from every school in the network.

It is an academic competition for students from middle school onward, organized by the Semper Altius School Network and the Anáhuac Prep Network.

During this event, students apply their knowledge in projects across different competitions and categories, such as:

  • Exact Sciences
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Written and Oral
  • Research
  • Art and Technology

At our school, we deeply value our students' social-emotional well-being. We know that positive interaction is essential to their well-rounded development, and so we actively foster positive interaction among all members of our school community.

In this educational environment, students have the opportunity to learn to identify and manage their emotions, develop key social-emotional competencies such as empathy, responsibility, and solidarity, and cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. Together, we also build the rules that guide conflict resolution, fostering environments of well-being where understanding and collaboration are essential.

We firmly believe that the well-rounded development of our students is only possible in a healthy and enriching environment. At our school, we are committed to creating an environment that promotes their growth — not only academically, but also emotionally and socially — so they can reach their full potential.
